What makes our place so special is that hiking is an experience in all four seasons.
Hiking through the apple trees in spring, observing marmots and ibexes in summer on the summits, watching the leaves turn in autumn or snow-capped mountains in winter – the landscape offers breathtaking and unforgettable moments in each season.
Spring
A special spring highlight in the Venosta Valley is the apple blossom. Thousands of flowers of the apple fruit trees shine brightly in the warm sunshine and the valley seems a white-pink sea of flowers. The apple blossom lasts about 2-3 weeks in April, but it depends heavily on the temperature and weather conditions. At this time, hiking along the paths on the sunny side of the mountains is especially popular.
Summer
In summer, when the temperatures climb higher, they attract hikers from all over the world to go higher to the mountains and obviously they are already expected by the alpine farmers. Over 20 huts and countless paths guarantee a unique mountain experience. Mountain railways and chairlifts can make the climb to the summit easier. The best experiences are unique summit moments at 2,000 to 3,000 meters.
Autumn
Autumn is the best time for hiking, a beautiful clearness and freshness floats in the air and the temperatures are pleasant. The apple harvest is in full swing and the color of the woods is a wonderful spectacle every year. A special experience in the Venosta Valley is hiking on the leads of the foster irrigation system, they can be found all over the valley. There are popular hiking trails for families and experienced hikers who want to relax and enjoy the unique nature.
Winter
Winter has its charms, too, in the Ortler area. Take a leisurely walk through the snow-covered, untouched natural landscape, enjoy the fresh air and the clear view and let yourself be enchanted by a unique winter wonderland with white peaks, soft powder and mysterious tracks in the snow.
